Biography

Simardev Gulati joins Breakthrough Energy’s Innovator Fellows program from EverBloom in New York City, NY where he is the Co-Founder and CEO leading the development of next-generation sustainable fibers and materials. Sim is a 3rd generation textile entrepreneur and has spent his career at the intersection of manufacturing, material science, and fashion – working to turn innovative ideas into scalable products with impact.

EverBloom processes pre-consumer industrial waste keratin protein waste using synthetic fiber infrastructure, transforming proteins into high-performance, biodegradable fibers that emulate the aesthetics of noble fibers such as cashmere and wool. By giving discarded proteins a second life, EverBloom is addressing the environmental footprint of textiles while helping the fashion industry transition to a truly circular economy. The Fellows program will provide the mentorship, resources, and global platform to accelerate EverBloom’s path to commercial scale and bring sustainable fibers into the mainstream.

In his spare time, Sim enjoys running in Central Park and playing chess with his kids. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from Adelphi University and studied Economics and Management at the University of Oxford. Upon graduating from Oxford, Sim traveled extensively throughout Asia and witnessed first hand the profound negative impact of apparel textile manufacturing and felt compelled to innovate in a stagnated industry and find ways to move it forward.
