Metal mining has a known efficiency problem which places future infrastructure at risk.

The goal of Thunderstone’s technology is to achieve upstream mining concentration in less steps with less energy (no excavation, no comminution). We use high voltage pulses to increase or decrease permeability of an ore body. This method can give us high fluid control to dissolve and recover metals in-situ and limit flow where undesired.

Thunderstone’s technology has the potential to radically change the way we extract and onshore metals. The technology can also improve fluid flow “sweep efficiency” on existing heap leaches or stranded assets.
