Entropy Lab
Company Description

The Urban Heat Island effect is a silent stressor that reshapes cities through energy demand, adverse health outcomes, and even social equity. Urban areas can be 2–7°C warmer than surrounding rural zones, with surface temperatures reaching 10–15°C higher during peak summer. This leads to increased cooling demand and higher emissions where every 1°C rise can spike air conditioning use by 1–9%.
Entropy Lab developed a novel coating solution to give buildings the ability to reject heat while also keeping the surrounding area cool. Through fine tuning of the material properties, Entropy Labs can achieve full solar spectrum rejection. By optimizing the structure to perform water cycling, the coating can also effectively address urban heat buildup.
Entropy Lab’s paints and coatings can be applied to new and old buildings, reduce the energy needed for cooling, and improve the living conditions of people in hot climates around the world.
