The plastics industry is among the fastest-growing sources of industrial greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, driven by rising global demand and fossil fuel–based production, currently accounting for approximately 3.5% of global GHG emissions. However, existing recycling technologies face major challenges, including high resource consumption, low efficiency, and high operational costs.
DeepCycle Eco’s proprietary technology offers an innovative solution by breaking down waste plastics (polyethylene terephthalate, or PET) into their original building blocks called monomers. Unlike traditional methods, this process is simple, efficient, highly selective, and operates under mild conditions. Building on this core innovation, DeepCycle Eco is developing a clean technology to enable truly sustainable plastic recycling.
By collaborating with plastic-intensive brands, waste collectors, and plastic manufacturers, DeepCycle Eco aims to close the plastic value chain and make a circular plastics economy a reality, thereby significantly reducing emissions in the sector, which remains heavily reliant on fossil fuels.
